Measuring Instructions

Find a blouse that fits well

Lay the blouse on a table or desk

Slide the measuring tape diagonally from the shoulder neck point to the point where the blouse neck opening ends.

Round the measurement to the nearest whole number

Record the measurement

Ask a friend for help

Instruct your friend to start at the center of the shoulder and draw the measuring tape straight down to the point where you want your blouse to end

Make sure that the tape passes over the center of the bust when taking this measurement

Measure from the top of the shoulder (the point where the neckline of the blouse sits) down to your apex

Apex is a fancy way of saying your nipple in sewing

Round up your measurement to your nearest whole number

Stand straight in front of full length mirror

Slide the tape so it surrounds the torso area just below the arm pits

Make sure the numbers are turned out so that you could read the measurements over the mirror

Round up the measurement to the nearest 0.5 or whole number

Wrap a soft tape measure around the widest part of your bust

The tape should be straight and parallel with the floor

Record the measurements

Slide the tape around the ribcage, directly below the bust - this is where your blouse will end.

Start at the top of the shoulder at the neck point and draw the measuring tape diagonally, make a half V , to the center of your back and choose how much depth you would like Measure around the widest part of your thigh

Find a blouse that fits well and lay the blouse on a table or desk

Keep the back of the blouse facing up and locate the shoulder seam

Measure from seam to seam

Round the measurement to the nearest whole number

Stand in front of a mirror with the arm extended outward

Wrap the measuring tape around the fullest part of your bicep

Look at the measurement in the mirror

Record the measurement

Place the measuring tape at the edge of the shoulder. Measure down the arm until you have the desired sleeve length. If you are getting a sleeveless blouse, mark this as 0

Find a blouse that fits well

Spread it out on a hard surface , like a table or desk and make sure the front of the blouse faces up

Curve the tape measure around the front Armhole stitching line

Record the measurement - this is half of the full length measurement
